Justin Smith has been a member of the St. Croix community for over 12 years. He is an army brat, and his father retired from the military at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated with a degree in Accounting from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University where he was a 3x All-Big Ten and Academic All-American linebacker on the football team. Upon graduation, he was given the opportunity to play professional football in the NFL where he played for 4 years and became a Super Bowl Champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After being forced into retirement, he found his calling in youth education on the island after volunteering at the Boys and Girls club and becoming a school teacher. He taught middle school and high school math, physical education, and music at AZ Academy for 5 years. Wanting to make a larger impact on our island youth after AZ Academy shut down the following year after Hurricane Maria, the seed was planted for Lion Haven with like-minded individuals.
