Lion Haven’s mission is to provide a safe place after school for our youth to learn, grow and thrive while meeting the needs of our island community. We believe that youth participation in after- school activities on a consistent basis will benefit them socially, emotionally, physically, and academically. When young individuals have easy access to a wide variety of fulfilling activities and the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with peers and adults, they are more likely to attend school, earn good grades, have a positive self-image, avoid harmful behaviors, and become equipped with 21st-century skills required for them to be productive citizens.
We seek financial support to expand our after-school program.The core objective of this initiative is to improve the academic performance, health/fitness, and the social skills of young people while keeping them away from potential risks or irresponsible behaviors that occur outside of school.
The program provides avariety of after school activities such as sports, gardening/farming, arts, class work assistance and learning, and other engaging activities on the island. The program is on a mission to help youth learn, grow, and reach their full potential, offering new learning opportunities that help students excel in school and in their lives.
Lion Haven is managed and implemented by a team of skilled and experienced professional academic tutors, health/wellness, and fitness coaches with decades of experience in after school activities.
